Joy is an actress based in Berlin, with a Bachelors in “Screen Acting”.
When Joy was a baby, she was adopted from China and ever since then, grew up and lived in Switzerland.
She speaks English, as it is her mother-tongue, German/ Swiss-German and French.
Many of Joy’s interests include staying active with movement by going to the gym, indulging in her love for music by singing and playing the piano, both of which she has taken lessons for for many years.
Joy’s interest in acting stems from her vast imagination and imagining herself in the books she read when she was younger. There was a specific book where from context she had imagined the main character to be Asian. It had turned out to be untrue but at the time she rarely saw Asian representation on screen, and she still envisioned the character to be Asian and so, as a Swiss-Asian-American girl she felt a calling towards being that role. Since then, she have pursued a career in acting.
Her acting career started off, as many do, in the humble beginnings of school theatre. The hunger now was there and just grew in time. She later visited a high school to major in theatre.
After high school Joy moved to Germany, to study at Catalyst the Institute for Creative Arts and Technology, where she now has a degree in "Screen Acting".
